IPSWICH Town manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Lee Martin, Andy Drury and Arran Lee-Barrett have been released by the club, while Michael Chopra and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas have both been transfer listed.
Confirming the stories which the EADT and Ipswich Star broke over the Bank Holiday weekend, McCarthy told the official club website: “Lee, Andy and Arran are all out of contract and have been released. I want to look at other options but we wish them every success for the future.
“I have also spoken to Michael Chopra and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (both now in the final year of their contracts) and told them that I don’t see them as being part of my plans going forward and they are free to look for another club.”
The EADT and Ipswich Star understands that Martin was offered a new deal on significantly reduced terms but turned in down.
Meanwhile, the club have also confirmed that goalkeeper Jason Brown, who signed a short term deal in March until the end of the season, will not be extending his stay at Portman Road.
