Ipswich Town are exploring the possibility of hosting a home pre-season friendly at Portman Road prior to the start of the 2018/19 campaign.
Preparations for the pre-season are ongoing despite the club still searching for a new manager, following the departure of Mick McCarthy, with a game at Portman Road on the final weekend before the start of the new campaign a possibility.
The Blues spent the entirety of their preparations for last season on the road, with the last pre-season game at Portman Road coming in July 2016 when Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise visited.

Prior to that, Dutch side FC Utrecht came to Suffolk in 2015 while West Ham have been the visitors on three occasions in recent years.
The Blues are again set to spend a week in Ireland this summer, with the trip possibly including a friendly game, while the rest of the pre-season schedule is set to be made up of games against sides in the east of the England.
