Ipswich Town need to sign another striker - but fans say Dominic Samuel isn’t the right man.

The Blues have embarked on an uncharacteristic signing spree early this summer, bringing in prized target Emyr Huws, exciting midfielder Tom Adeyemi, winger Bersant Celina, defender Jordan Spence and £1m striker Joe Garner.

But, in a poll on our websites which attracted nearly 900 votes, 47% of fans said the Blues still need to make 1-2 signings, while a further 44% said Town need 3-4 more new faces.

And by far the leading vote winner in terms of whereabouts on the pitch more signings are needed was striker, with 58%, followed by defender with 20%.

However, with Reading’s Samuel being linked with a move back to Suffolk, where he spent time on loan last season, 56% of 550 fans in a subsequent poll said he wasn’t the man for the Blues.

Samuel played six times for Ipswich and failed to score.
