Every week, our panel of Ipswich Town fans will make their predictions ahead of the Blues’ latest game, with three points awarded for a correct scoreline and one point given for a correct outcome.

We’ll keep a league table along the way, before crowning a winner at the end of the season.

Typical Ipswich. Just when you think the season is done they give you a smidgen of faint hope. Win our next two and who knows?

But despite four defeats in five away from home, the Blades will be tough opposition having been there or thereabouts all season long.

While I do not forecast a game of the ilk of that famous match in 2003, I can see Ipswich doing the Sheffield double this week. Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-1 Sheffield United

I should start by saying our win against Sheffield Wednesday has been very important for us!! Great performance… Waghorn was just… magical!!

So, we are back in action at Portman Road to face the other Sheffield team, Sheffield United! The Blades are a bit flying high on the league as they were in the League One last year… However they come from a 3-0 defeat with Fulham but we must be very careful as they have defeated us twice this season (League and FA Cup).

We must keep our currently good performance and winning momentum! I reckon it’s going to be a very tricky game at Portman Road… I’m so sorry but I will take this time a point regardless to be playing at home... My prediction is a 1-1 draw (Garner)... I really hope they will prove me wrong and we will keep the three Points in Suffolk! COYB! Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-1 Sheffield United

It has been hard against Sheffield United in the past but this time it feels different. Tuesday’s away game had a nerve-wracking end for Town fans but it may well be a turning point after winning 2-1 away. It was a joy to watch Waghorn’s goals and I can’t wait for more.

Town to win 2-0 on Saturday. Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-0 Sheffield United

Ipswich will follow up back-to-back away wins by getting a win at Portman Road against the Blades. With the shape of the side settled with 3 at the back, we seem to look defensively more solid but also not as impotent going forwards as we did previously - although this has yet to be shown at Portman Road in this run.

With Martyn Waghorn back on the scoresheet this should give him some confidence and with the defence and goalkeeper all playing well, I think we’ll have too much for Sheffield United who are clinging on to the top 6 but not in any real form. Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-0 Sheffield United

Back-to-back wins at Preston and Sheffield Wednesday should help build the confidence in the team and they certainly looked like the three points at Hillsborough meant a lot to them.

The test will be whether they can transfer that away form to Portman Road. I was at the Sheffield United game in October and it was honestly one of the most boring games of football I have had the misfortune to sit through.

I expect the Blades, like us, to sit back and because of that and the fact they are doing well this season, I’m going for a solid performance but a 1-1 draw - if Waggy were to score again it would make me very happy! Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-1 Sheffield United

I’m worrying optimistic about this game - Mick has gone up against Wilder twice already this season and lost both games 0-1 so surely he won’t get caught out again!?

Sheffield United play the type of 3-5-2 a lot of Ipswich fans would like Ipswich to, the centre halves regularly get forward, Duffy and Fleck are strong in midfield and Clarke and Sharp are powerful up front.

Given the current run of games Mick has Garner, Ward, Celina and Iorfa all fresh so I’m expecting to see some or all of them, and after Waghorn’s double on Tuesday it’ll be interesting to see whether he stays up front in a two with Garner or goes into a wider position again. If you told Mick he was getting four points from the next two he’d be happy but I think we can scrape it. Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-1 Sheffield United

Since Sheffield United’s last visit to Portman Road in January for their low-key FA Cup 3rd round victory, their form has been considerably mixed, seeing them drop out of the top six. Indeed, only a fortnight ago, manager Chris Wilder was writing off their play-off hopes, challenging his players to show the necessary motivation.

Whilst Towns form has show an upturn in recent weeks, it has been on the back of a strong run away from home.

With just one home win in almost three months, back to back home games are an ideal opportunity to try and translate that away form to Portman Road. However, if Town are relatively unchanged on Saturday, it could lead to a cagey game with neither side gaining the momentum needed to snatch the victory and propel their season. Prediction: Ipswich Town 1 Sheffield United 1

Tuesday night was an unexpected win in my opinion and it opens the door to the play-offs slightly.

If Town are serious about reaching the play-offs then this game against the Blades is a ‘must win’. Trouble is Mick hasn’t done that well in other previous ‘must win’ games whilst at Portman Road!

Saying that Ipswich could be on the cusp of the fabled ‘run’. Waghorn will be full of confidence after ending his goal-drought. Hopefully Celina will be given a chance again and he could be Town’s key-man. Prediction: Ipswich Town 3 Sheffield United 1

Who would have thought it? Town are currently 7 points off the play-offs with a game in hand, despite realistically being miles away. I’m not for one minute trying to suggest that we will make the top six, but win against the Blades on Saturday, and Town are well within reach of sneaking up the table with a favourable game in hand against struggling Hull on Tuesday.

Chris Wilder has been incredibly critical of his side recently, with an inconsistent run of form resulting in the Blades plummeting out of the play-off places. Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp aren’t quite hitting the goal scoring heights that they were earlier in the season and defensively they’re far from watertight.

This a real opportunity to end this torrid run of form at Portman Road and go at a team low in confidence. Both meetings this season have been incredibly tight, so I expect to see a similar trend on Saturday. Earlier in the week I would have called this game as a draw, but with Town’s win at Hillsborough and United’s hammering at Fulham, I’m now leaning toward a home win. Our performances have been much improved over the last month, so I’m gonna go with a narrow Town win, with a similar score line to the previous two meetings. Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-0 Sheffield United

What a great result it was for us against Wednesday and with Waghorn ending his goal drought we have the chance to get our third win on the bounce and do a Sheffield double in a week!!

Hopefully now Waggy will have a bit of confidence again and keep on finding the back of the net! I think Sheffield United will make it very tough as they try to bounce back from their loss at Fulham. I hope we can get another 3 points but I think a draw is due for us and Sheff Utd so I’m going for 1-1. Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-1 Sheffield United
