Ipswich Town got their season off to a positive start at the weekend with a 1-0 home victory over Birmingham City in the Championship.
Following that win, the Blues are back in action tomorrow (Tuesday) when they travel to Luton Town to play the Hatters in a first round Carabao Cup game, at Kenilworth Road.
Blues fans will be hoping their team can avoid the humilation of another cup exit to a lower-league side, having suffered that indignity against the likes of Carlisle, Crawley and Stevenage in recent years, but it won’t be easy against a side that demolished Yeovil, 8-2, at home, on Saturday, in League Two.
After the trip to Kenilworth Road, the Blues return to Championship action and a trip to one of the surprise packages of last season, Barnsley.
Previewing that trip to Oakwell, the game at Luton, and reviewing the three points against Birmingham, are Chris Brammer and Stuart Watson, who will be on hand with live reporting from the next two games, while keeping the Archant websites updated throughout the week.
