Ipswich Town legends Arnold Muhren and Frans Thijssen were welcome guests to Portman Road on Saturday, and watched the Blues’ 1-1 draw with Leeds United.
The Dutch duo were in Suffolk to celebrate the launch of a book about their lives, called ‘Game Changers’ by Netherlands-born Blues fan, Tom van Hulsen.
They were also on hand to receive framed prints of the EADT’s recent ‘Top-10 Ipswich Town players of all time’ feature, written by EADT editor, Terry Hunt. Number one, Kevin Beattie, also received a print.
Thijssen said: It’s always great to come back, we always feel so welcome.
“There was the sponsors’ evening on Friday night and people were so kind. This sort of thing we don’t have in Holland.”
Muhren added: “Last year we were here twice but didn’t bring the team any luck.
“Ipswich picked up some good results recently, so hopefully they can climb up the Championship table a bit more.”
