Ipswich Town will pay tribute to former boss Bobby Ferguson with a minute’s applause before their Bank Holiday Monday match with Millwall, the club have announced.
Ferguson, the club’s first team coach under Bobby Robson in the glory years and boss between 1982 and 1987, died yesterday at the age of 80.
Flags are flying at half mast at Portman Road today as a mark of respect.

In a statement, the club said: “It’s very sad news. Bobby was a fantastic servant to Ipswich Town as a coach and manager and remained a regular at Portman Road on matchdays in recent years.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to Bobby’s family and friends at this very sad time.
The club will be paying tribute to Bobby at the Millwall game with a minute’s applause before the game and the players will be wearing black armbands.”
