The Ipswich Town squad still have their minds focussed on matters on the field despite talk of potential January exits, according to midfielder Kevin Bru.

The likes of Bartosz Bialkowski, David McGoldrick and Tommy Smith have both been linked with moves away this January, with Bru also still open to a move after being told he is free to move on at the start of the campaign. His contract is due to expire in the summer.

But the midfielder, who saw a switch to Toulouse fall through on the final day of the summer transfer window, insists neither the players in question or the rest of the squad are being distracted by January transfer talk and are instead concentrating on football.

“No, not really”, he said, when asked if talk of January moves is disrupting the Town squad.

On his own situation, Bru said: “There is nothing new, I have six months left but we will see what happens, we’ll see.

“I am still under contract but we will see what happens in the next few weeks for me.”

While Smith has been linked with a move to MLS side Colorado Rapids, Bialkowski has been mentioned in connection with a switch to the Premier League with Crystal Palace.

Manager Mick McCarthy confirmed Bialkowski’s name was on a long list of potential Palace targets, with Bru insisting his team-mate is good enough for the top flight.

“We all think that (he is good enough for the Premier League) and he’s been linked with some Premier League clubs so we will see if he is here or if he is gone.

“At the moment he is here and he will be playing.

“He has been very good the last few years and he’s a good lad. We’re all good lads in the dressing room so hopefully he will stay here.”

Kieffer Moore left Portman Road on Monday to sign for Barnsley in a deal thought to be worth £750,000, with the Blues needed to pay a small sell-on fee to former club Forest Green Rovers.

Irish striker Aaron Drinan is so far the only new arrival after his switch from Waterford was finally completed.
