Ipswich Town have today revealed their red away kit for the 2017/18 season.

The last time Town played in a red away shirt was in 2013/14 as the team finished ninth in what was Mick McCarthy’s first full season in charge. The Blues boss had made a special request for that colour back then.

Since then, Ipswich have had away strips of orange, the Barcelona-esque maroon and navy stripes and, most recently, all white.

The kit is once again manufactured by adidas, for the fourth year running, and once again features the name of owner Marcus Evans as sponsor, for the ninth year running.

Town have already launched their new home kit for next season, with white shorts returning to complement the traditional blue shirt and socks.

Skipper Luke Chambers, fellow defender Tommy Smith and Grant Ward were chosen as the models for the new away kit. Town’s keeper will be wearing all black whenever a change of kit is required from the new bright cyan coloured first-choice strip.

The new kits are available for pre-order from 9am today.
