They may not be splashing the cash on transfer fees, but Ipswich Town’s wage bill is very competitive in Championship terms.
So says Ian Milne, the Blues managing director, responding to those who have criticised a perceived lack of ambition shown by owner Marcus Evans this season
In an exclusive interview with the EADT, Milne has also lifted the lid on the working relationship between Evans and manager Mick McCarthy, explained why the latter has been restricted largely to free transfers and loans and spoken about plans for stadium upgrades – including a costly major renovation of the Portman Road pitch – should the team achieve promotion.
