Mick McCarthy's men ultimately secured a 1-1 draw in their Euro 2020 qualifier at Parken, with Shane Duffy equalising after Pierre-Emile Hojberg's opener for the hosts.

Judge came off the bench after 66 minutes and proved a creative force for the Irish, wanting the ball in all areas of the pitch with a performance reminiscent of his early weeks as an Ipswich player.

The midfielder was guilty of letting Southampton's Hojberg run past him and into the box for the Denmark opener but, after winning a free-kick wide on the right just a few minutes later, he delivered a pinpoint set-piece for Duffy to head home.

Judge continued to create openings for his team-mates before the final whistle went, before it was revealed he had suffered a broken wrist in the closing minutes.

"Judgey went on and put a great free-kick in and if you get a good delivery to Shane you have every chance of scoring," McCarthy said.

"But it looks like he's broken his arm. If he didn't have bad luck he wouldn't have any at all because he's had some injuries.

"He's just moved to a new club and I thought he was brilliant. He gave us movement and a bit of legs, as well as some quality."

Next up for the Irish is a home game with Gibraltar on Monday.

Elsewhere this evening, teenager Idris El Mizouni made his international debut as a substitute as Tunisia beat Iraq 2-0.

The young midfielder came on after 81 minutes of the game in Rades.
