Ipswich Town have announced they will honour early bird prices for season tickets until Wednesday due to busy phone lines.

The original deadline was 12pm today, with prices then set to jump up by at least £163 for adults.

Town – who are looking to appoint a new manager by late May, early June – have revealed that season ticket sales for 2018/19 are up seven per cent up on this time last year.

A statement read: “The club’s ticket office took more than 150 calls in three hours this morning as supporters took advantage of the Early Bird prices, which sees a saving of more than £160 against post Early Bird.

“More than 10,000 season tickets have now been purchased at the best prices, with cancellations down by 50 per cent compared to last year.

There is a positive feeling about the club and I think that is shown with the increase in season ticket sales.“We are going into an exciting new era for everyone involved with Ipswich Town, particularly the supporters.”
