Ipswich to visit Braintree for pre-season friendly
Ipswich Town will travel to Braintree Town for a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 14.
The Iron are back in the National League for next season and released their pre-season schedule today, which includes a game against the Blues on Saturday, July 14. The Essex club say Ipswich have confirmed they will be bringing their first team for the game.
Links between the two clubs have seen a number of youngsters head to Cressing Road on loan, most recently with youngsters Conor McKendry and Pat Webber spending time at the club during the closing months of last season.
Monty Patterson and Michael Crowe, both released by the Blues yesterday, have also previously spent temporary spells with the Iron previously.
It is the second pre-season game to be announced by the Blues this week, with a visit to MK Dons in place on July 24.
Ipswich are also set to spend a week in Ireland once again, with the trip already in place prior to the departure of former boss Mick McCarthy.
