Ipswich Town – along with fellow Championship strugglers Bristol City and Rotherham United – are reportedly weighing up moves for Scunthorpe United midfielder Josh Morris, according to HITC Sport.

Morris has been the man for the high-flying League One side this season, scoring 18 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions. He was named the third-tier’s player of the month award in both August and September.

The versatile 25-year-old mainly plays on the left wing, but can operate through the middle or at left-back.

Born in Preston, he came through the youth ranks at Blackburn Rovers and made just seven league starts for the Lancashire club. There were brief loan spells at Yeovil, Rotherham, Carlisle and Fleetwood before he moved to Bradford on a free transfer in the summer of 2015.

Despite signing a three-year deal at Valley Parade, Morris lasted just a season at the League One club after scoring one goal in 13 league starts. He made a free transfer switch to divisional rivals Scunthorpe last summer.

Having signed a three-year deal at Glanford Park last summer, his agent may be negotiating improved terms with the Lincolnshire club following his sensational form.
