Ipswich Town are reportedly interested in signing winger Lloyd Isgrove following his release by Premier League club Southampton.

The 24-year-old was first linked to the Blues back in January and the Welshman – who has one senior cap – who has one senior cap – is said to still be on Mick McCarthy’s radar.

Primarily a winger, but also capable of playing up front, he could be a decent option if Town want to sign a permanent replacement for Tom Lawrence rather than look to another loan.

A product of the famed Southampton youth system, Isgrove enjoyed a superb year on loan at Barnsley when they won the League One Play-Off Final and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. The Tykes may want to bring him back to Oakwell.

His four starts for the Saints all came in cup competitions, with a sole Premier League appearances coming as a substitute back in August 2014. He has also had brief loan spells at Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday.
