Ipswich Town’s under 21 side suffered the same fate as the club’s first team, as they went down 1-0 at Cardiff City this afternoon.
Mark Kennedy’s Blues were looking to back up their win over Watford last time out but, with time ticking down, Jamie Vale fired past Michael Crowe to win it for the hosts.
Josh Emmanuel, Myles Kenlock and Piotr Malarczyk were all involved in south Wales, as were promising youngsters Andre Dozzell, James Blanchfield and Adam McDonnell.
Goalkeeper Crowe had made a string of good saves before the Bluebirds won it late on.
Ipswich Town: Crowe, Emmanuel, Owen, Malarcyzk, Smith, Kenlock, Dozzell, Blanchfield, McDonnell, Morris, McLoughlin.
Subs: Marsden, Hammond, McKendry, Benyu.
