Ipswich Town drew 1-1 with rivals Norwich City at Portman Road this afternoon.

Dean Gerken
A surprise inclusion in the Ipswich side with Bartosz Bialkowski dropped to the bench. Had little to do in the first period and perhaps got lucky in the second when a deflected Alex Tettey effort bumped off his arm and wide. Could do little about the goal. 6
Jordan Spence
A rare appearance under Hurst for the defender, who came back into the side for Janoi Donacien. Took a while to get up to the pace of the game and struggled to contain Onel Hernandez at times, without the Norwich winger ever getting a real sight on goal. Did enough, though. 6
Matthew Pennington
Only trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Saturday after signing before Friday’s loan deadline and, considering all of that, performed very well. Found aerial duels a little tough at times but was quick to get his toe to the ball to cut out danger on a number of occasions, while using his body superbly to keep the Norwich frontline quiet. An encouraging display for sure. 7
Luke Chambers
An excellent performance from the skipper who got his head to pretty much every ball which came his way. Was vocal throughout and carried on manfully despite looking to have lost a tooth in a clash with Jordan Rhodes and seeing close friend Cole Skuse suffer a nasty-looking injury. 7
Jonas Knudsen
Has twice been a derby day goalscorer but he was unable to make it a hat-trick today. Was up and down with more intensity than he has been in recent weeks, although much of the play came down the opposite flank. 7
Cole Skuse
Had one chance when the ball was fired to him on the edge of the box following a corner, but he was caught in two minds and guided a tame header over the top. Left the game on a stretcher to a great ovation following a nasty-looking collision while defending a corner. Thankfully is was more of a precaution than anything too serious. 6
Jon Nolan
Keeps the ball ticking over in midfield and is extremely comfortable in possession. His superb, angled ball created Town’s goal and summed up what he’s all about. If he can get on the ball higher up the pitch he can be a real force for the Blues. It’s been an encouraging start to his time at Portman Road. 7
Gwion Edwards
It really did feel as though his goal was going to end a decade-long run without a win in this fixture but it wasn’t to be. His battle with Jamal Lewis was the most entertaining battle in this fixture, with both men giving as good as they got. Maybe should have scored a second after taking the roof off of Portman Road with his first. 7
Jordan Graham
Fired a free-kick over inside the first two minutes and had another blocked later in the first half, but that was as good as it got on Graham’s second Ipswich debut. He was a little anonymous at times, with much of the play going down the Ipswich right. 5
Jon Walters
Received a huge ovation when his name was read out prior to kick-off, following his loan return from Burnley. Looks short of full fitness but put himself about, just as he did during his first spell with the club, with a first-half shot from range hitting the post. His experienced showed, with neat touches, ability to bring others into player and vocal display at the top end of the pitch adding something which was missing to the Ipswich side. 8
Kayden Jackson
Never gave the Norwich backline a rest but saw little reward for his efforts during the first period. His pace became more of a factor in the second, stretching the Norwich backline and making space for his team-mates to exploit. 7
Trevoh Chalobah (for Skuse, 45+7)
Came into the game late in the second half and gave the Ipswich midfield a little more momentum than they did during the first 45 minutes. Had one shot blocked behind in a positive display. Perhaps could have done a better job of clearing in the build-up to the Norwich goal. 7
Grant Ward (for Graham, 82)
Got on the ball well and had one shot dragged wide late on. 6
Ellis Harrison (for Jackson, 84)
Had little time to make an impact. 5
