Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy says the club has still not started any contract negotiations with skipper Luke Chambers.
Chambers is one of six players due to be out of contract in the summer and recently made it clear, in a brutally honest interview, that he was miffed at the lack of talks over his future.
Christophe Berra, Paul Digby, Jonathan Douglas, Leon Best and Giles Coke are also in the last six months of their current deals.
“There’s nothing happening with contracts, not at all,” said McCarthy.
“When you sit down and think about that, we’ve got options (to extend the deal by an extra 12 months on the same terms) in the contracts of all those players (Douglas had that option used last summer). That’s exactly what it is – an option to extend the contract up until the date that option runs out. That’s just what we’ll do.”
