PAUL Jewell has admitted, following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Blackpool, that his team are apt to struggle when they fall a goal behind on the road.

There was little to choose between the two teams, until a double strike from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Barry Ferguson inside the first 16 minutes of the second half put Blackpool in complete control.

Town had some late chances, but in truth this was a comfortable win for the Seasiders.

“Any defeat is obviously disappointing, and of course I am disappointed,” explained Jewell.

“We did have three chances from which we could have scored, from which we didn’t make the keeper work.

“Jimmy (Bullard) got through on one, when we had five against three, and Daryl (Murphy) has also had two opportunities.

“If one of those had gone in, it might have been different.

“Once we go a goal behind, certainly away from home, it looks like it is going to be hard work for us to get back into the game.

“But up until the goal there was nothing in it, so we are disappointed,” added Jewell.
