FORMER England Under-21 defender Richard Stearman is believed to be on Paul Jewell’s radar.
The 23-year-old Wolves centre back could be surplus to requirements at Molineux following the big money arrival of Roger Johnson.
And that has alerted the Ipswich Town boss who is believed to see the 6ft 3ins defender as the ideal man to shore up the Blues’ backline before the start of the Championship season.
Stearman, who has three years left on his contract and is rumoured to be valued at around 800,000 by Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, was a member of the club’s Championship-winning season in 2008/09.
Ipswich will face Wolves in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday at Portman Road (3pm ko).
