IPSWICH Town boss Paul Jewell was satisfied with his side’s battling point in a goalless draw at promotion chasing Leeds Utd this afternoon.
Town stoked up a good deal of pressure especially in the second half, to frustrate their hosts, who had only lost two of their previous 23 league games.
“I thought we were all over them for the first 10 seconds!” joked Jewell.
The town boss went on to add; “ It wasn’t a classic away performance, but it was a gritty one. I thought we did ok in the first half, we started the game pretty well but basically it was a scrappy game on a very difficult pitch.
Defensively it was a very good performance and I thought that Gareth McAuley was particularly outstanding” added Jewell.
