PAUL Jewell has today admitted he might look to break up the central defensive partnership of Damien Delaney and Tommy Smith for tomorrow Championship match against Peterborough.

The duo have come under fire following the 5-2 home defeat by Southampton – but Jewell insisted that defensive improvements were needed from the whole team.

But rookie defender Jack Ainsley is in his thinking for the televised clash while there could also be changes in the midfield.

Jewell said: “I will have to wait and see what team I play tomorrow. Obviously we are not blessed with competition in that position (centre back).

“A few players are in my thoughts but I can’t just wipe out the team and make wholesale changes.”
