IPSWICH Town boss Paul Jewell was full of praise for his team’s attacking display in a dazzling 3-0 home win over Coventry City tonight.

Town powered to a third victory of the season, and the platform for the victory was built by Aaron Cresswell’s marvellous seventh minute cross, which forced Sky Blues defender Martin Cranie to head into his own net.

Further goals from Keith Andrews (15 minutes) and Jason Scotland (68) wrapped up a comfortable win for Jewell’s men, although they were also indebted to a couple of superb goal-line clearances from the excellent Cresswell.

Jewell said: “It was a very open game. It could have been 7-3.

“There were too many crosses into our box, and too many headers, but we looked great going forward.

“The way we created chances, especially in the first half, the game could have been over at half-time.

“But it was a lovely three points, and it was great to put on a decent attacking performance for our supporters.”
