PAUL Jewell admitted that he gave his side a rollicking at half-time, and it worked a treat as Jimmy Bullard’s sweet brace secured an impressive 2-0 win at Cardiff City this afternoon.

Midfielder Bullard struck on 67 and 86 minutes to seal Town’s fifth successive victory over Cardiff.

“I couldn’t wait to get my players in at half-time!” insisted Jewell.

“I’m delighted with our second-half performance, but not our first. I wasn’t happy with that.

“I changed a few things at half-time, and said a few truths, and the second half we were a lot better.

“It was the first time I had lost my temper with the players to a degree, but I felt it was necessary and I got the response that was needed,” added Jewell
