BELFAST boy Jim Magilton is looking to proudly show of his team in his home city.

The Blues are planning a trip to Northern Ireland as part of their pre-season preparations and Magilton said: “We have not nailed it down completely but I would like to spread the gospel to my home town.”

Town are also close to confirming games against two Premier League sides at Portman Road, with July 26 and August 4, both provisional dates.

The players will be back in training on June 25 and have again booked into Loughborough University for five days of intensive training, with age on the last day against a University Select XI the climax.

Much of the rest of the pre-season programme will be against local opposition such as Tiptree United.
