BLUES boss Jim Magilton slammed his side's first half showing at Charlton as 'totally unacceptable'.

Magilton also warned he will be making wholesale changes in the January transfer window after yet another dismal away performance.

Town have now gone 15 away games with a win and never looked like changing that at The Valley.

Magilton said: “I was embarrassed in the first half. It was a totally unacceptable performance. We can't afford to keep giving away cheap goals the way we did again today.

“We showed in the second half we have the capability to do much better. If you show passion and fight then I can accept that and we did in the second half.”

Magilton admitted he will be looking to spend much of the £12m he has from the Marcus Evans takeover when the window reopens.

He said: “We need to get different characters into the building. If I can get rid of players and other clubs will take them then I will get rid of a few.

“I will bring in players with the right attitude and the right sort of character if I can.”

Magilton made three substitutes, starting with bringing Pablo Counago on when Town were two down.

He said: “If I had been allowed to make six changes then I would have done.”
