BLUES boss Jim Magilton is convinced new signing Jon Stead will soon win over the doubting Ipswich Town fans.
The general impression by Blues supporters of Stead's signing from Sheffield United has been underwhelming, but Magilton is confident the 25-year-old can win them over.
Stead has been brought in by Magilton, who is building virtually a whole new team from last season, to lead the attack.
He said: “Jon Stead brings in quality, a good work ethic and hopefully goals.
“He has got real experience now. He was pushed into the limelight at a very early age at Huddersfield and got a big move to Blackburn.

“It seemed the world was at his feet initially but like all young players, he had a downturn and he's had to work his way back in. We are going to give him an opportunity to do that. I've always liked him.
“I like his character and he's settled in very well in training.”
The move is initially a loan deal until January when the move could be made permanent if both parties agree.
Magilton said: “It could become a permanent move in time. It all depends on how it goes. Alan Lee left a vacancy and Jon will fill it. I like him as a footballer.
“He's an intelligent lad who can link the play and I think our fans will like him but ultimately, I'm sure he will be judged on scoring goals.”
