IPSWICH Town boss Roy Keane has admitted that any transfer deals - either in or out - are still a long way off being completed.
Sunderland duo Grant Leadbitter and Carlos Edwards have both been at Portman Road over the last few days to talk terms with the club but are still some way from accepting.
Keane said: “The deals still have a long way to go yet. They're still far from done - we'll wait and see how it goes over the weekend. We're trying everything we can to try and sign these players but these deals can be hard work.
“I'm very hopeful we can get something done, but we have so many deals in the balance and the situation seems to change by the hour.”
Keane also talked about speculation linking a number of his players with exits from the club ahead of next Tuesday's transfer deadline.
