ROY Keane has admitted that, even if Ipswich Town do sell Connor Wickham for 10m, he is unlikely to have all that money at his disposal to buy new players.

Keane hopes that Wickham will stay at Portman Road when the transfer window reopens next month, but if the 17-year-old goes, he won’t necessarily have a big injection of cash in the transfer market.

Whether I get that money remains to be seen,” said Keane.

“It sounds great to sign one player for “X” amount of money to bring in three or four, but it doesn’t work like that because we have to look at the wages of the club. The hard part is getting deals done, which we haven’t managed to do.”
