ROY Keane will be without five of his most experienced players for tomorrow’s visit of Barnsley.
In addition to the trio of Grant Leadbitter (suspended), David Norris (ankle) and Gareth McAuley (Achilles tendon), Keane also revealed during this lunchtime’s press conference that Darren O’Dea and Mark Kennedy would not be fit enough to start.
“I think it’s too soon for Sparky (Kennedy) and Darren O’Dea. The plan is to play them on Tuesday for the Reserves,” said Keane.
“I have no problem with throwing some of the youngsters in. I’ll be dead relaxed about that. They’ll do well, I’m sure of it.”
Kennedy and O’Dea were both unused substitutes for Tuesday night’s 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Derby, and it seems that the best they can hope for is another place on the bench today.
