TOWN boss Paul Jewell has spoken of his delight after finally landing Luke Chambers.
After the 26-year-old centre-back signed a three-year deal at Portman Road, Jewell said: “Luke comes across as a very honest type and he’s certainly made a very good impression with everyone at the club in the short time he’s been here.
“The deal’s been going on for a while for one reason or another but from the first time we met, I was confident he would sign for us, even though there were a few clubs in for him.
“Colin Calderwood took him from Northampton to Nottingham Forest when he became their manager and that’s always a good sign. He’s always played well against us and he can play as a full-back as well as centre-half, which gives us another option if needed.
“He’s a leader as well and that’s what we want from him on the pitch.”
