FRENCH World Cup star Steve Marlet was among the scores as Ipswich Town strolled to a 3-0 win over Luton Town in the Combination Reserve League at Portman Road tonight.
Danny Haynes and Dean Bowditch also scored before Jamie Peters set up Marlet's 89th minute header from a corner.
Marlet was a surprise inclusion in the side after not being named in the squad earlier in the afternoon and only 431 supporters saw him try out for Town, although it is unlikely he will be kept on.
The lively Peters also crossed for Bowditch who finished well with a looping header and showed his versatility by playing in the sitting midfield role for the first hour.
Chris Casement had laid Haynes' goal on a plate after just four minutes and the young striker tired before being substituted on the hour, no doubt with the Norwich game in mind, where he will be used in his usual impact substitute role.
