Ipswich Town U21 1 Brighton & Hove Albion U21 0: NATHAN Ellington’s strike after 31 minutes gave a strong Town U21 side a narrow victory over Brighton this morning at Playford Road.

The former Wigan man slid in at the back post to add the finishing touch to Byron Lawrence’s cross from the right.

Soon after, Town were reduced to ten men when Ronan Murray was shown a straight red card for a head butt on Brighton’s Theo Jones.

The visitors enjoyed plenty of possession during the second period but they failed to trouble Michael Crowe in the Town goal, with Shamir Goodwin squandering their best chance when he pulled his shot wide from six yards.
