YOUNG American keeper Cody Cropper has been told he will not be getting a new contract at Ipswich Town.
The 19-year-old has been on the first-team bench on three occasions this season – the Carling Cup defeat against Northampton and subsequent league matches at home to Reading and away to Crystal Palace.
But Paul Jewell has opted not to extend the youngster’s contract – beyond the 12-month professional terms he signed last year – making him a free agent this summer.
Cropper was tonight said to be ‘gutted’ by the decision. While writing on Twitter, the 6ft 3ins US Under-20s keeper said: “It’s honestly so depressing but at the same time its good to know that I can move on to bigger and better things.”
