SUNDERLAND are believed to have stolen a march on the Premier League big-hitters by agreeing a deal for Ipswich Town star Connor Wickham.
However, the Portman Road club are yet to confirm that an offer has been agreed. We expect more news later in the day.
Leading lights Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle have all been linked with Wickham over the last few months, but Sunderland have shown the strongest interest this summer in Town’s England Under-21 international.
It has been reported that Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has agreed a 13m package for Wickham, although the initial down payment has been set at 5m.
