FORMER Newcastle United star Laurent Robert - linked with a January move to Ipswich - is starting a trial with Derby County, it has emerged.
FORMER Newcastle United star Laurent Robert - linked with a January move to Ipswich - is starting a trial with Derby County, it has emerged.
The out of contract winger is being looked at by Rams boss Paul Jewell.
He said: “He's coming in on Friday and we'll see how he looks. We'll see what condition he is in and if he is right for us.”
It is believed Robert is a potential signing for Blues boss Jim Magilton, who said last month: “Robert is out of contract and if he wants to come over and have a look at us then he has an open invite.
“Certainly someone with his quality could help us.”
