VELICHE Shumulikoski last night completed his move to Preston North End, while Ipswich are understood to have had a bid turned down for Watford's Tamas Priksin.

The 28-year-old Macedonian midfielder agreed a four-year deal with the Deepdale club and could make his Lilywhites debut against Bristol City on Saturday in their Championship kick off.

After North End agreed to pay around 400,000 for Shumulikoski, who completed his medical on Friday despite a swollen ankle, talks stalled over the weekend while the player waited for his Croatian agent to come over to England to negotiate a pay off with the Blues but that has now been sorted out.

Personal terms between Shumulikoski and Preston were completed yesterday and the deal formally finalised last night.

While the Macedonian midfielder joins Jordan Rhodes, Kevin Lisbie and Danny Haynes as the latest players to leave Ipswich, manager Roy Keane has finally tried to enter the transfer market by making an offer to Watford for Priskin.

Keane is understood to have made his move on Monday but sources in Watford last night claimed the bid has been rejected.

It is likely that Town will make another move today and will not be allowed to speak to the player until their bid is accepted.

Reports in the national press last week claimed a bid had been made then but they look to have been premature with both Keane and Hornets' boss Malky Mackay dismissing claims that a bid of around 1m had been made for the Hungarian.

But following this week's bid Priskin's agent Joseph Vorosbaranyi said: “I cannot reveal the price, but I may confirm that Ipswich have made a very serious offer for Watford's Tamas Priskin.

“We wait for the club's answer now but I believe that an agreement will be made between the two clubs.”

Keane was spotted at Road during Watford's 3-2 win over Parma on Saturday and it is being reported that Ipswich have since bid up to 1.2m for the 22-year-old.

Keane is also understood to have shown an interest in attack-minded forward Tommy Smith after a 1.8m move to Sheffield United fell through but the player is unwilling to move his family to East Anglia and it is likely Reading or West Ham will capture the player.

Vorosbaranyi admits his would be interested in moving to Portman Road but said the Slovak-born Hungary international 6ft 1ins striker was in no hurry to leave Vicarage Road where he has a year left on his current contract.

Priskin joined the Hornets in 2006 for an undisclosed fee and although he struggled during much of his time under Aidy Boothroyd, reports from Watford suggest the striker was outstanding in the second half of last season.

He scored against Tottenham and Chelsea in the FA Cup and League Cup and bagged nine in the final 16 games of last season.

Town have also been linked with a loan move for Sunderland's teenage midfielder Jake Colback.
