QPR v Ipswich: QPR are closing in on two big money signings – Scott Parker and Duvan Zapata – ahead of Ipswich Town’s visit to Loftus Road on saturday.

The Telegraph are reporting that Tottenham have accepted a £3.5m bid for 32-year-old England international Parker, with a switch likely to be completed within the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail report that Colombia Under-20 international striker Zapata held talks with the west London club yesterday after Argentine club side Estudiantes confirmed they had accepted a £6m offer.

The newly-relegated Hoops have already got seven players with England caps on their books in the form of Rob Green, Luke Young, Joey Barton, Jermaine Jenas, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora.

Jose Bosingwa, Djibril Cisse and Christopher Samba all left QPR following their relegation from the top-flight, while Brazil keeper Julio Cesar also looks set to follow suit.

Manager Harry Redknapp has managed to sign Charlie Austin (£4m, Burnley), Richard Dunne (Aston Villa, free), Karl Henry (Wolves, undisclosed), Danny Simpson (Newcastle, free) and Gary O’Neil (West Ham, free).

QPR started life back in the Championship with a 2-1 home win over Sheffield Wednesday, but were then held to a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield on Saturday.
