JASON Scotland sees manager Paul Jewell’s summer search for at least one new striker as a challenge, not a threat to him.

Scotland will be looking to add to his 10 goals for the campaign, at Leicester City tomorrow (12.45pm kick-off).

The 32-year-old has been disappointed with his goal-haul, especially the lack of goals on the road – just one of his 10 strikes have come away from home.

And Jewell has made his priority signing a proven goalscorer for next season. Yet Scotland will relish any new competition.

“Getting in new strikers will be healthy for the team. We will all be pushing for a starting spot,” insisted Scotland.

“When you are not guaranteed a starting spot, it pushes you as an individual.

“I still feel I can score goals at this level. I want to come back fresh, clear my mind and put my head down for the new season,” added Scotland.
