SHANE O’Connor will enjoy another outing for Ipswich Town Reserves this afternoon, on his comeback from a torn hamstring.

Left-back O’Connor sustained the injury while away training with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s last month, but he successfully came through a behind-closed-doors game against Millwall last week, and will hope for another 90 minutes at Southend United in a Combination fixture today (kick-off 2pm).

Likewise, long-term injury victim Luciano Civelli is also in the Town squad. The Argentine is battling back to fitness after a serious knee injury sidelined him from March, 2009. He has suffered many setbacks along the way, over the last 18 months. Midfielder Colin Healy is also expected to feature, but otherwise it will be a very young Town side on show against the Shrimpers.

Meanwhile, Town’s deputy keeper Brian Murphy has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad, as a replacement for the injured Keiren Westwood (Coventry City). Murphy has been involved with Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad in the past, but is yet to make his senior international debut.
