Shane O’Connor joins Port Vale - but no new loans expected for Blues
SHANE O’Connor has completed a loan switch to League Two Port Vale – with Ronan Murray close to following him out the exit door.
The 21-year-old left-back has moved to the Valiants until January and could go straight into the side for tomorrow night’s match against Torquay.
O’Connor, who has not featured for the Blues this season, said: “I’m really looking forward to my time at Port Vale. I need to be playing games and when the manager said I had the opportunity to go out on loan, it was an easy decision to make.”
The loan deal should soon be followed by Murray who is expected to wrap up his temporary move to Paolo Di Canio’s Swindon Town before this evening’s 5pm deadline.
But Luke Hyam, who Paul Jewell admitted this morning could go out on loan, is not expected to be leaving Town today.
Elsewhere, we understand that Jewell will not be adding any new players to his ranks after this morning revealing he was fighting a losing battle in his pursuit of fresh blood.
