IPSWICH Town midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski could be set for a shock move to Premier League side Fulham.

Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson is understood to be considering making a 1.5m move for the Macedonian international if Danish midfielder Leon Andreasen returns to Germany.

Fulham are weighing up a bid from a Bundesliga side for the former Werder Bremen player, which is understood to be an initial loan switch with the offer of a permanent 2m move in the summer.

Shumulikoski could also move to the London club on a temporary basis to begin with, for a fee, and then if everything falls into place, make the move permanently in July.

The 27-year-old, who has been called into Macedonia's squad to play a friendly against Moldova in Antalya, Turkey, on February 11, is known to be unhappy at being dropped from the Ipswich side of late.

He was on a seven man bench in the 3-1 defeat at Chelsea, but not used, despite being the only outfield player to have mixed in the company of many of the Chelsea team while on international duty.

He was left out of the 16-man squad completely as Town narrowly beat Barnsley 2-1 on Tuesday night and has spoken to his agent about the situation.

Fulham were reportedly interested in Shumulikoski last month but nothing has materialised up to now.

Hodgson, known to be a close associate of Town owner Marcus Evans, has been linked with Watford duo Lee Williamson and John-Joe O'Toole, but mainly to replace Jimmy Bullard who made a 5m move to Hull City.

If Fulham want to sign Shumulikoski they have until 5pm on Monday to do a deal as the 'emergency' loan window which opens again for around six weeks seven days after the window shuts, does not apply for Premier League sides.

Shumulikoski was signed this time last year from Turkish side Bursaspor for around 800,000

Blackburn are another Premier League side to have shown an interest in the central midfielder in the past.

Town and Fulham linked last summer when Hodgson allowed Moritz Volz to join the Blues on a season-long loan. The German defender's contract runs out in the summer when he becomes a free agent.
