Tommy Smith and Adam Webster both featured for Ipswich Town under 23s this afternoon as they continue their return from injury, but the Blues lost 3-0 to Charlton in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Smith, who hasn’t played since the opening day of the season, got an hour under his belt in his first game back as he steps up his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Webster continued his recovery from ankle ligament damage with 90 minutes of action, having come on as a second-half substitute against Bristol City at the weekend.

Gerard Nash’s U23s sit third in the southern group of the Professional Development League and are next in action against Bristol City, on October 9 at Portman Road.
