CHAMPIONS' League club Steaua Bucharest have made an audacious bid to take Jaime Peters on loan.

The Canadian international winger scored in Ipswich Town's 12-1 romp against MK Dons yesterday afternoon but with first team chances limited he is among a raft of players Jim Magilton is looking to get a better standard of regular football elsewhere.

The Romanian club moved to take the 20-year-old for the remainder of the season but it is doubtful whether Peters will accept the offer and may instead go to another English club.

Managed by former Romania international player Marius Lacatus, Steaua Bucharest are currently fourth in their top league, which they have won a record 23 times, with 15 matches of the season left to play.

Peters, who played in Germany before joining Town, has a contract with the Blues until 2010 and any move is likely to be just on loan.
