FEARS that Ipswich Town loan keeper David Stockdale may be recalled by parent club Fulham have been cooled by good news regarding Mark Schwarzer’s injury.
The Cottager’s veteran custodian required four minutes of treatment – before carrying on – during a 2-0 defeat at Swansea on Saturday.
However, manager Martin Jol is hopeful that the Australian will be fit for tomorrow night’s Europa League match against Odense in south west London.
“He’s [Schwarzer] got a problem in his spine but a specialist is coming to see his this afternoon [Tuesday] and we’ll make a decision,” said Jol. “I think he’s got a great chance of playing.”
England international Stockdale is on a season-long loan at Ipswich, but Fulham hold a 24-hour recall clause. Should that clause be enacted, then Stockdale would not be able to return to Portman Road.
