Bookies have seen a flood of bets on Ipswich Town being relegated after their 6-1 friendly tonking by Charlton at the weekend.
The Blues had enjoyed a fairly impressive pre-season up until 3pm on Saturday, when things went south quickly and Mick McCarthy’s men found themselves 4-0 down at half-time.
They stopped the rot somewhat in the second half, but still ended up on the wrong side of a five-goal thrashing, which left McCarthy absolutely fuming.
And punters responded to the result quickly, lumping in on Town to get relegated from the Championship in the coming season.
Before kick-off, the Blues were the 11th most-backed team for the drop with 4.3% of bets made.

But since the grim result, Town now account for 11.4% of relegation bets, according to Oddschecker.
Ipswich are currently the fifth favourites for the drop at 10-3, behind Burton (7-4), Bolton (23-10), Millwall (5-2) and Barnsley (11-4).
