IT probably wasn't the best game to watch but 25 Blues fans over from Sweden enjoyed the visit anyway, despite Town's loss at home to Watford.

The Swedes arrived last Friday, met up with our photographer at Sir Alf, where else? Then enjoyed a stadium tour around Portman Road before going of for some light refreshments - beer is so much cheaper over here.

The hard core fans were up about early enough to visit the Playford Road academy and see the training facilities before watching the Under 18s go down 3-1 to Crystal Palace - hopefully not an omen - before a liquid pre-match lunch.

Although many have had to return home a few are making their way to watch Ipswich Town at Crystal Palace tonight hoping for a better result.

The group came from all parts of Sweden and the trip was organised by Niklas Nygards, whose interest stems from their UEFA Cup

Final victory, when he was just eight-year's old.

Nygards said: “We have had a wonderful trip. It has been very cool to see behind the scenes and the training facilities. We have so many people to thank but we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

“The club have been very hospitable and we have been very impressed by the set up. We have heard about how things like the training facilities are but unless you see it first hand you never really appreciate just how impressive it is.”
