IPSWICH have denied Jon Walters has handed in a transfer request or that they have had any offers for last season's player of the year.

Town are so confident he is staying that there are plans today to take his photograph for the official team line up and squad profiles after he was missed out of the original shots as he was away on paternity leave.

Fresh reports yesterday claimed Walters had handed in a formal transfer request but Town chief executive Derek Bowden last night insisted that was not the case.

Bowden said: “Nothing has changed. Jon has not handed in a transfer request and we have had no offers for him.”

Stoke City are understood to still be interested Walters while West Brom, looking to strengthen after a poor start, are also believed to be keen along with his former club Hull City.

Speculation about Walters has been rife all summer, not helped by the player's silence, but Ipswich are determined to hang on to the player who still has three-years left on his contract.
