IPSWICH Town have injuries galore ahead of this Saturday’s final home game of the season, against already-relegated Preston.
Darren O’Dea (twisted ankle) and Gareth McAuley (groin) are both definite non-starters, while Connor Wickham (rib) and Jimmy Bullard (shoulder and knee) are big doubts.
“Darren (O’Dea) is out for the season with his ankle injury,” confirmed manager Paul Jewell at this morning’s press conference.
O’Dea will therefore return to his parent club Celtic.
Jewell continued: “Gareth (McAuley) is not fit. He has a tear to his groin.
“And both Connor and Jimmy are doubtful for the weekend, so we are very much stretched at the moment.”
Troy Brown looks set to come in for the injured McAuley in the heart of defence.
Jewell added: “Troy came off the bench on Monday (4-1 defeat at Swansea), so he will be in contention.”
