IPSWICH Town are reported to be showing interest in Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward.

The diminutive front man, who impressed in the recent cup tie between the two sides at Portman Road is valued at around �400,000.

Ward was close to transferring to Town's Championship rivals Barnsley last week, but could not agree personal terms with the Yorkshire club. He is out of contract in the summer.

Sheffield United and Derby County are other clubs said to be interested in the 22-year-old, along with a host of League One clubs including Leeds United.
